Menu Wipe Off Board

I saw this (http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/2010/09/weekly-wipe-off-menu-board-magnets.html) idea some time ago and had just the frame for it laying in the garage.

This is what I threw together last night...

By threw it together I mean that I just tacked the fabric I happened to have lying around that fit/matched on with tape and assembly took me all of 10 minutes.   I don't love the fabric/colors and it's waaaay too big.  I think I'll redo this one and use it elsewhere and make a smaller, magnetic version like the one in the link above for the kitchen.

My Next Victim

I grabbed this guy in the "as is" section of Ikea today for $1.99.  The plan is to spray paint it orange and hang it in the boys' room as a magnetic art display.  I figured I would run the idea by the hubby when he gets home and see if he has any better ideas.  I also grabbed a serving tray that I'm hoping to pretty up for a Christmas gift.

Random Repurposed Ruffage

We needed some small storage for our school closet and I challenged myself to repurpose as much as I can from things I find around the house.  A couple of these have a ribbon strap hot glued on so that they can hang on a tension rod.  These projects are proof you can pretty up and reuse just about anything.

Easy Peasy Distressed Sign Wording Tutorial

Good golly that title is longer than the whole tutorial!

Awhile back I painted and roughed up a few random pieces of wood and finally decided what I wanted to do with one of them.....

Twins' 6th Birthday Invite

edit:
below was my original idea.  just something simple.  my hubby suggested i go a bit more "biker" and add flames and graffiti text.  the above design was my compromise between the two and i'm really happy with it!

Frugal (Free) Storage Bins

I have been on a purge/declutter/organize rampage lately and tonight's victim was my laundry room.  I had a few things stored in some old Huggies boxes since we moved here (2 years ago) and when I chunked all that I decided to try to revamp the boxes.  They aren't exactly beautiful but they're functional and, even better, they cost me nada!  I sprayed the sides down with white spray paint and stuck a couple pieces of scrapbook paper to the front.  Easy peasy!

(I would LOVE to share before/after pics of the laundry room but unfortunately blogger isn't cooperating at the moment.  Hopefully I can get them up soon.)
